Privacy and cookies

Who is responsible

Web Marketing International FZCO (Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority licence 26411), Dubai Silicon Oasis, DDP, Building A1, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is responsible for personal data collected through this site.

Nothing until you choose

No analytics or advertising cookie is set, and no analytics or advertising tag loads, until you make a choice in the cookie box. If you never answer, nothing is collected beyond the server logs described below. You can change your answer at any time: .

What this site collects

  • Visitor statistics, only if you allow them. If you choose Accept or Statistics only, Google Analytics counts which pages are visited, how visitors arrived (the referring site or campaign name), the type of device and browser, and which links are followed. It sets cookies whose names start with _ga so that repeat visits are not counted twice. I look at these figures only as totals, to decide which guides to improve and what to write next. In Google Analytics, the retention setting for the property that counts visits here is 2 months for event data and 14 months for user data. A cookie called uaen_stats remembers your answer for a year. You can switch statistics off again at any time: .
  • Advertising cookies, only if you accept them. If you choose Accept, Google and Meta may remember your visit so that Web Marketing International can show you its adverts later on their services (remarketing), and any Google Ads or Meta advertising tag on this site loads. Google and Meta process this data under their own terms. A cookie called uaen_ads remembers your answer for a year. Saying no, or withdrawing later, removes the advertising cookies. If you accept, a Google Ads tag also loads. When you then follow a link to Web Marketing International, it records that click, so the publisher can measure its advertising.
  • Where you came from, when you follow a link. Links to Web Marketing International carry the name of this site, the page you were on and the place on the page you clicked. If you arrived through a link with a campaign name, that name is passed along too. Advertising click identifiers (such as Google's gclid) are passed along only if you accepted advertising cookies.
  • Server logs. The hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, such as IP address and requested page, to run and secure the site.

Where data is processed

Google Analytics and the hosting provider process data on servers that may be outside the United Arab Emirates.
